WHAT IS THIS PROJECT?
Mindbreaker is a VR tech demo game I developed alongside my other projects over the course of 3 months. I was fascinated with the potential of virtual reality, and wanted to make a game that combined the realistic physics interactions from BONEWORKS, with the horror and style from Outlast.
The story of Mindbreaker is a spinoff prequel to my main game Dreadfire, but with a much bigger focus on horror.
I was able to complete the tech demo for Mindbreaker in 3 months, which contains a 30 minute story campaign, with multiple combat encounters, jumpscares, chase sequences, and dialogue. The game also has realistic physics interactions, and a full body IK system, fully immersing players into the game world.
MY ROLES
Including but not limited to:
- Designing the gameplay for the game
- Writing the story and script for the game
- Writing all the code for the game (in C#)
- Designing all the character models in the game
- Responsible for the lighting in the game
- Designing all the levels and environments in the game
- Responsible for all the scripting of the levels
- Casting and directing a team of well-known professional voice actors for the characters of the game

- Ensuring that the game is optimized enough to run smoothly at 72 FPS (minimum) in VR with high quality visuals
